What does Allocation Registration mean?

Registration System

During the Course Request Period: You can request as many courses as you like and assign a priority to your choices. Courses are prioritized in the order in which you enter them.
Course Priorities Tip: Assign a high priority to limited enrollment courses to increase your chances of getting into the class. To edit your course priorities, click on Account and select My Course Priorities. Be sure to Save Priorities before you leave the page.
Following the Request Period: Our allocation system assigns members to courses based on their course priorities.
Following the Allocation Period: You will be notified via email about the courses in which you are enrolled and if you are on a waitlist. Registration will then reopen for courses with available seats.

Note: While you can request as many courses as you want, please don’t request more than you plan on attending. If you want to drop a course, contact the office (OLLI@umn.edu) and we will update your registration. This will allow someone from the waitlist to take your spot.

How do I prioritize my classes?

Log in to your member account and click on My Account at the top right of the page. Select Course Priorities. This is where you can renumber and reorder your courses to reflect your 1st priority, 2nd, and so on. (Remember, you want to enter small classes that might fill up higher on your priority list.)

Why don't I see the Add to Cart button?

You must be signed into your member account to see the Add to Cart button.

Where do I find SIGs contact information?

Login to your account, click on Account in the maroon bar, and select Member Only Page. With OLLI’s many special interest groups (SIGs) and book clubs, there is something for everyone. If you have a passion that doesn’t currently have a SIG yet, we welcome you to organize a SIG!

Why do I have to be a member and sign in to see the Member Page?

The member page contains member contact information that is confidential

How can I teach a course for OLLI?

We’re looking for experts and enthusiasts in various fields, folks who enjoy teaching and mentoring, and anyone who wants to make a positive contribution through education. While course leaders may have established backgrounds in a discipline, this is not necessary. We welcome course proposals from all who would like to bring a topic to life or organize a local tour. Training is available from our OLLI peer mentors. While we do not pay our course leaders, we invite them to take an OLLI course for free.

For more information about how to teach for OLLI, please visit the Teach for OLLI site and course proposal form.
