As his condition progressed, Mike's doctor took note of how the two of them were managing his care at home. With her journal notes in hand, Rosalys eventually shaped their experience into the book "Mike & Me." Using "Mike & Me" as a guide, this class helps students learn how to support family caregivers and those they care for with dignity, compassion, and genuine appreciation.

    Learn the art of baking delicious sourdough bread in this hands-on workshop. Baking bread is both science and craft and you’ll learn the secrets to creating delicious and crusty loaves. This workshop will cover creating and nurturing a sourdough starter, tools and equipment, ingredients, prep, baking and troubleshooting. We will sample a variety of fresh sourdough loaves to talk about variations in taste and texture. During the workshop, we will mix, prep, and shape dough to take and bake at home the following day. 
    Your class fee includes a glass jar with sourdough starter, a proofing basket to use and keep, plus written instructions and recipes. Students need to bring 1) a large mixing bowl 2) a kitchen towel 3) an apron (optional). At home, you will need a Dutch oven or roasting pan with lid that can be safely heated to 450 degrees.
