Introduction to School Nursing ESA   



School nursing is a specialized practice that advances the well-being and health of K-12 student population. 

This course prepares you for initial Educational Staff Associate Initial Certification as a School Nurse. Content includes the role of the school nurse within the context of the school and society, growth and development, assessment and screening tools, school law, and legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities of the role.

This course is approved by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for meeting the requirements for initial certification as a School Nurse.

Intro to School Nursing ESA Course

School nursing is a specialized practice that advances the well-being and health of students in the K-12 school-age population.

Learn practical skills at the hands of Nationally Board Certified School Nurses, discuss common scenarios in online message boards, and learn Scope of Practice. Assignments and videos are posted in a virtual classroom to allow participants more flexibility to "learn the ropes" without sacrificing quality or content.

This course prepares you for the Educational Staff Associate Initial Certification as a School Nurse. This course is approved by the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) of Washington State for meeting the requirements for initial certification as a School Nurse. Check with your home state office of education to verify if this course covers requirements.

Participants who are not fully COVID-19 vaccinated need to wear a protective face covering during on-campus portion of course, as per state health regulations.
