Who Should Enroll

Open to all nurses and Free to PLU nurse practitioner preceptors, as a part of the School of Nursing's HRSA ANEW grant (HRSA-19-003). If you are interested in precepting a nurse practitioner student in your primary care setting, contact Jennifer Bolin

Holistic Opioid Addiction Prevention (HOAP) Program will provide the knowledge, skills, abilities, and tools to prevent opioid addiction and improve long-term pain control. HOAP is an integrated educational intervention that teaches opioid alternatives for chronic pain patients. This model allows for collaborative care by combining the skills of the FNP and the PMHNP.,

You can learn to write for publication!

A follow-up to the introduction workshop, but this can be taken independently.

Whether you have your degree and are out working in the field or if you are still in school working on a Doctoral project, sign up for this two-hour workshop and learn to develop and finalize an outline for writing a manuscript, title, abstract, and introduction. Learn to apply concepts for APA scholarly writing to your review of literature and ask questions specific to your academic writing project. 

Learners will benefit the most from this workshop if they have a specific project that they are working on, such as a research or DNP project, nursing manuscript idea, or Master's Thesis.

IUDs: the Ins and Outs from an Expert Clinician $50.00

IUDs: Selection, Insertion, Removal, Problem Solving. Patient Education.

Participants learn correct methods for administering a cervical block, inserting the five currently available IUDs (Paragard, Liletta, Mirena, Kyleena, and Skyla), and matching the most appropriate IUD to patient needs. In addition, the instructor discusses the use of a tenaculum, os dilators, sounds, and endometrial samplers to do a gentle insertion.

  • Participants can register at any time and will receive an email with information on how to complete the class on their own time. This is not a live session, but an asynchronous session.

This offering provides participants the opportunity to learn about precepting students when using telehealth. Participants will learn about the different teleprecepting models and how they can be implemented in graduate, undergraduate, and fellowship programs.

This self-paced workshop will provide you with a link to a video, PowerPoint notes, and access to resources.

According to Senate Bill 6061, beginning 1/1/21, telemedicine providers must complete telemedicine training. This workshop will provide the required attestation to fulfill the law, along with 1.75 Contact Hours.
Learn what's new in Washington State on Telehealth for nurses, the latest information from the state of WA regarding Telehealth requirements, what will be required in 2021.
