Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Recertification Hybrid   

Recertify your Wilderness First Responder (WFR) in this Hybrid course! WFR is the worldwide standard in wilderness medical education and is a great choice for those regularly adventuring or working in remote environments. The WFR certification is a common requirement for outdoor professionals including those working in adventure guiding, ecotourism, search & rescue and more. If you do not have a current WFR, consider signing up for the full WFR course

This Hybrid course includes a required e-learning section with at least 12 hours of interactive online learning followed by 16 hours of in-person learning over two days. The e-learning section includes interactive learning modules with videos, readings, self-practice assignments, quizzes, and case studies. It is recommended that students register two to three weeks prior to the course to ensure adequate time to complete the e-learning section. 

Open to adults 18 years and older. Certification is through Wilderness Medical Associates International. Certification is valid for 3 years and includes Adult, child and infant CPR following AHA/ILCOR standards. To re-certify take the WFR Recert course or a repeat WFR course before your cert expires.

    This class includes online self-paced learning and in-person classroom experience. Please see the schedule below:

    • May 15 - May 29: Finish self-paced online learning. We recommend students start the self-paced online portion as soon as you receive the Moodle link from your instructor. You can complete the online portion any time after registration. Online work must be completed by midnight May 29. Many students report it takes more than 12 hours to get through online work, please allow plenty of time for completion.
    • Sa-Sun May 30 - 31: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm: In-person at the Port Angeles campus. Class times include a 30-minute lunch break. Students should bring their lunch and plenty of water.
