Target Archery   

Thwaaack!! The sound of an arrow hitting the target, hopefully the 10 ring! Target archery can be enjoyed in a wide variety of ways, from a meditative part of your day all the way to Olympic competition. This class is designed to get students started on what ever archery path they choose.

This class will be hands on, always! Hands on training aids, bows, arrows, targets, range set up will all be part of the class. There will be next to zero talking head time!

We will use basic recurve bows with low draw weight to learn shot mechanics and range procedures. Toward the end of class, student questions about purchasing their own equipment would be addressed. All equipment and supplies are provided.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  • Be able to identify the parts of a recurve bow and an arrow.
  • Be able to follow archery safety procedures.
  • Follow archery range rules.
  • Respond to 4 different whistle commands while on the range.
  • Commit to memory, and practice the 11 steps to archery success.

    This course is for adults 18+. Students should wear soft-sole, closed-toed shoes. 

    The final class on 5/16 will meet 30 minutes earlier from 8:30 -10:00 am.
