Creative problem-solving and effective decision-making skills are essential in today's workplace. Through the use of real-life case studies, discover four primary problem-solving tools, learn a format for group problem-solving, methods for effective decision-making and techniques to minimize conflict and dissension. This course concludes with an interactive problem-solving group exercise. Concepts taught in this course can be applied to all facets of life. This class is offered in partnership with Green River College.

Do you have a business idea—or are you getting ready to launch? Join the Everyday Entrepreneur “Pirate Pitch” Competition course, where you’ll develop a comprehensive entrepreneurship project and pitch your venture for a chance to win one of three cash prizes: 1st place – $2,000, 2nd place – $1,250, 3rd place – $750.
This course supports you in identifying, validating, and refining business opportunities while helping you avoid costly mistakes. Students receive one-on-one coaching and gain access to a network of industry experts to guide them from idea to pitch-ready.
Upon successful completion of this course a student will:
- Implement entrepreneurship perspectives while developing a plan for success in their chosen field or service.
- Develop a risk assessment plan on an industry and the potential pitfalls and hazards through a designated period of implementing the growth.
- Develop a plan for cash flow for implementation of the startup or growth plan implementation.
- Create and present a pitch demonstrating entrepreneurial idea or business growth plan.
This class may include students from multiple sections.
Class is self-paced online, with optional in-person meetups. Class culminates with the in-person "Pirate Pitch" on June 23.
