Workshop for Caregivers (especially)
Workshop for Caregivers (especially)
Student Learning Outcomes
Back to class listing
Participants will realize the importance of pausing before moving and paying attention to how one moves, particularly when movement habits could (or are) manifesting as pain patterns during and/or after work time with a care receiver (some classic scenarios are lower back pain and shoulder pain).
Participants will deepen awareness of their own movement habits related to essential movements of working with a care receiver (examples: bending or leaning over, reaching forward).
Through the movement sequences experienced during the course, participants will construct enhanced capacity for re-organizing or changing movement patterns, which can contribute toward improved well-being, on and off the care-giving job.
