What types of training does Pikes Peak State College offer?

There are many different types of training offered through Pikes Peak State College.

  • Career-Focused Training Programs: Our institution offers many in-demand occupation credentialed certificates and degrees in fields like: Early Childhood Education (AAS and certificates) - Fire Science Technology (Basic Firefighter Certificate) - Law Enforcement (Pikes Peak Regional Law Enforcement Academy) - Healthcare fields like: - Certified Nurse Aide - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Phlebotomy.

  • Workforce Development & Customized Training: We also offer non-credit classes in Healthcare & Allied Health, Technology & Computer Programs, Business & Leadership, as well as Customized Training for businesses, tailored to your employers and team's needs.

Do I need to be in Colorado to take training through Pikes Peak State College?

You don’t necessarily need to be located in Colorado to enroll in Pikes Peak State College's training — if you're enrolling in online classes. However, if your training program leads to professional licensure or certification, it's important to know that our programs are designed to meet Colorado's licensure requirements. If you live or plan to work in another state, you’ll need to check with that state’s licensing board to confirm whether our program meets their requirements. What types of qualifications will I receive upon completion of training?

The type of qualification you receive depends on the training program you complete. Here’s a breakdown of what you might earn:

  • Certificates

    • Shorter programs focused on specific skills or careers (for example: Certified Nurse Aide - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Phlebotomy - Basic Firefighter Certificate - Early Childhood Education Certificates, etc.)

  • Associate Degrees

    • Longer programs (typically 2 years) that may prepare you for a career or for transfer to a 4-year college (for example: Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Early Childhood Education, Associate of Arts Degree (AA), Associate of General Studies Degree (AGS), etc.)

  • Bachelor Degrees

    • Pikes Peak State College now offers bachelor’s degrees in selected fields. While general admission to Pikes Peak State College has no deadline, some for-credit specific programs have application deadlines, especially those in healthcare, public safety, and selective-entry fields. Our non-credit options are open year-round. Once your registration and payment are processed, and you receive a confirmation email, you are welcome to begin your training journey right away.
