Not the longest economic depression in U.S. history, but definitely the most severe and heart-breaking, the period of 1929-1941 well-deserves the moniker of 'The Great Depression'. At home, the Dust Bowl of 1931 -1939, insect infestations, 25% unemployment, drought, the collapse of agriculture, the end of Prohibition and many social experiments by the great devotee of Woodrow Wilson, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, were all punctuated by happenings abroad with the rise of fascism, the Spanish Civil War and economic warfare with Japan. What a decade! Join us as we refresh our parents' memories of this interesting time in American History.
