Come check out the 2024 Salmon Bake at Pioneer Park! Enjoy a fresh Alaskan entree (Salmon, King Crab, Bering Sea Cod, Prime Rib, Halibut, or veggies) with an optional salad bar and side dishes. Sit with friends or fellow OLLI members, catch up for the summer, and enjoy the sunshine. An area will be reserved for OLLI members. This is purely a social invitation for a no-host dinner and a chance to dine with friends.

Join us for a walk through Fairbanks’ local bird and wildlife refuge. Dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for what could be soggy or uneven paths. Remember that mosquitos may be out there, bring binoculars, and wear your hearing aids! Enrollment limited to 20.

*Meets at the Fairbanks Community Food Bank, 725 26th Ave., Fairbanks, AK 99701

Join us for a tour of the Fairbanks Community Food Bank during prime volunteer hours. We will have the chance to observe the process of packing weekly boxes and food supplies, and complete a walkthrough of the facilities. Enrollment limited to 20.

*Come prepared with appropriate clothing for a ride, and bring a water bottle and a sack lunch 
*Weather cancellations will be at the leader's discretion, but sometimes rain happens!  
*There will be an accompanying person who can help in case of minor mishaps such as a chain coming off, etc.

Start at the University Park Elementary School on Loftus Rd and ride out to Chena Pump Campground. Bring a picnic lunch or snack for a pleasant social time at one of their picnic tables. Approximately 10 miles, level ground.

Start at the University Park Elementary School on Loftus Rd and ride past Ann’s Greenhouse. There is a Thai food stand if you wish to purchase a treat. They have great Thai tea! There is a pleasant shaded bike path most of the way. Approximately 13 miles, gentle hills.

Start at the University Park Elementary School on Loftus Rd and follow the Airport Loop. There will be less traffic on a Saturday to enjoy a nice ride. Approximately 10 miles, level ground.

Take a guided tour through the newly renovated library.  Explore the extensive facilities that support our services and enjoy the new additions to the building. Enrollment limited to 20.

Tour the mushroom growing rooms and learn about the commercial growing process. There is very limited parking at the actual location, so we are required to meet at the Malemute Saloon to carpool into three cars. Upon returning to our cars after the tour, feel free to stop into Flossie and Mae’s coffee shop for no-host coffee and snacks. Enrollment limited to 12.

Join us for a personal tour of the barns and research facilities owned by the University for their muskox project. Wear appropriate walking shoes, as paths between buildings may be uneven. Enrollment limited to 20.

Join us at the Goldrush Town Museum for a personal tour of the town, including a wealth of information about early Fairbanks. There is no charge for the tour, but donations are very welcome. If one wants to watch the slide show accompanying “The Great Stampede'' mural collection, it opens at 11:00 am with a $6.00 admission fee. All other concessions and facilities open at 11:00 am. Plan to spend the day with OLLI friends, grab a bite to eat, and have fun! Enrollment limited to 25.
