The Historic Morton Theatre: Culture, Heritage, and Community Tour

Celebrating its 115th anniversary in 2025, the Morton Theatre is one of the first and the oldest surviving vaudeville theatres in the United States that was uniquely built, owned, and operated by an African-American businessman: Monroe Bowers Morton. Experience this structure firsthand via a tour of the building, with anecdotes and historical stories of many Black-owned businesses; efforts to save, renovate, and operate the historic site as well as its current function.
