Poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay

Edna St. Vincent Millay was arguably the most popular American poet of the 1920s and '30s, yet today only scholars and staunch admirers know her. A Pulitzer prize winner and proponent of justice, free speech (and behavior), and women's rights, she wrote masterly poems, plays, short stories, and essays. This discussion-oriented class will focus on poems that illustrate her range of subjects, ideas, moods, and forms. No required textbook or homework.
