There are literally thousands of musical events that have occurred with Georgia ties. Our speaker has picked a baker's dozen, including Fiddlin' John Carson's '22 radio debut, A Night At The Royal Peacock, The Rolling Stones "live" in Statesboro, Elvis Visits Georgia in '55/'56, Sinatra On Stage at UGA, and little known background on the concert at Sanford Stadium. While some events are out of state, each has a Peach State tie-in. The presentation will include music clips related to the events. Don’t miss the music, rare posters, and forgotten stories.

Fifty years ago this year, Bruce Blackman penned a song the he thought had promise. His new band recorded the 45 RPM and it was released in September 1975 and went nowhere. By March 1976, his car had been repossessed, and the rent was due. Then the phone rang...Blackman, a singer/songwriter, founded the Atlanta band Starbuck whose song "Moonlight Feels Right" became a top ten smash and remains one of the defining tunes of the 1970s. He joins OLLI's Chris Jones for a discussion of his story and his latest projects.
