Second Life, founded in 2003, is the longest running, user developed virtual world. In 2008 SL won a Technology & Engineering Emmy Award. Active users number nearly a million and its GDP revivals many small countries. Users can build avatars, interact with others, build properties, buy and sell products and attend events. Access is free but many users buy properties and accessories. In this class Ed will lead a tour of some of his favorite places to give you a taste of Second Life.
