The University of Georgia is one of the few campus law enforcement agencies in the country to have a full response Explosive Ordinance Disposal (bomb team) that serves as not only as a resource to the University community but also the neighboring areas surrounding us. The team consists of multiple EOD technicians who are certified in handling and rendering safe hazardous devices as well as multiple K-9 units that aid in the location of devices. The team is outfitted with a truck, robot, total containment vessel and numerous other items that they use when responding to incidents. The team will speak about the training that they undergo in order to be certified, the types of calls they respond to and showcase some of the equipment that they use while responding to calls. The truck and K-9s will also be at River's Crossing for the class.
