Join us for a guided tour of the Lyndon House Arts Center that features a wide range of exhibitions and creative experiences. Visitors will see the work of Clarke County School District K–12 students in our biannual student exhibition that celebrates the creativity and talent of young artists from across the community. The tour will also include the expansive landscape works of Sarah Flinn and sculptural works by Eleanor Foy.
In the North Gallery, the Arts Center Choice Award exhibition will highlight the work of Francie Carson, while the Lounge Gallery features Phoebe-Agnes, the first curatorial exhibition by LHAC intern Jordon Myrick who developed it during her year at the Arts Center.
Guests will explore the galleries, enjoy a short tour of the historic house and, if time allows, take a behind-the-scenes look into our studio spaces.

This session introduces UGA’s Anne Barge Historic Clothing and Textiles Collection as both a teaching collection and an archive of fashion and regional history. We will approach garments as primary sources, inviting participants to consider what clothing can reveal about everyday life, social dynamics, labor, and cultural change. The session also introduces core curatorial and archival practices, including how objects enter a collection, how they are documented and stored, and how exhibitions and research shape their interpretation over time.

Topics explored include: the history of the Lake Lanier Watershed; the 20th Century buildout of dams throughout North Georgia; the political battle for approval of Buford Dam and Lake Lanier; its changing role as needs in the region shift; the controversial name selection for the reservoir; its reputation of being haunted; the "Water Wars"; the biodiversity of the lake, and more.

Jubilee Partners has hosted more than 4,000 refugees from terrible situations in 40 countries so far—in addition to leading delegations and launching programs to help in peacemaking efforts in at least a dozen war zones. Learn how efforts by a team of 20-30 "Resident Partners" and seasonal volunteers have not only had powerfully good effects for the folks being served but also how powerful and "contagious" such loving actions can be, spreading hope and joy in this troubled world.

Tour the Ramsey Student Center and learn everything it offers. “Ramsey,” as it is known by students, is a 440,000 square foot student recreational and athletic facility located on UGA’s East Campus. One of the largest such facilities in the U.S., it was built and named in honor of Bernard and Eugenia Ramsey. Among the recreational activities offered are: 8 basketball courts, 9 volleyball courts and 12 badminton courts; over 25,000 square feet of weight-training space with 360+ pieces; 44-foot high climbing wall and 14-foot outdoor bouldering wall; 1/8-mile indoor jogging/walking track; and 50-meter competition pool, diving pool and 8-lane recreational pool.

First stop: the William Daniell House, where attendees will explore the home of this Revolutionary War veteran. The tour combines Revolutionary War history with cultural storytelling, early American life, and the role of Georgia and local militias during the war. If available, hear traditional stories and history from Oconee Joe, a Native American storyteller. Discover the culture and practices of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Attendees then drive four miles to the Eagle Tavern Museum, once a vital stop for travelers, where docents bring to life early Georgia through immersive exhibits. Discover what it was like to travel and stay overnight during the early 1800s; explore trade practices and early shopping experiences; see the goods that would have been sold or traded; and learn about tavern conversations, including politics and revolutionary ideas. Please note there will be considerable standing and minimal seating at both venues. Attendees are welcome to BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair)

Participants will hear about UGA’s #1 ranking among U.S. universities for new products while learning about the impact of products and startup companies emerging from UGA research. The session highlights UGA’s many success stories ranging from dry-eye drug RESTASIS® to DE-FLUORO™ for degrading forever chemicals, to disease-resistant peanut varieties that claim 95% of the state's market share. Participants will learn about the UGA programs and services that support commercialization of promising technologies including educational programming, mentoring, seed funding, incubator space and more. The UGA Trial Gardens in Athens were established in 1982. The primary functions of the garden have always been research, teaching, and new-crop introduction. The trials are planted in April and May and consist of major and minor bedding classes, tropicals, vines, plantings of specialty annuals, more than 150 free-standing containers, and three large perennial beds. The other major function of the garden is the evaluation and subsequent introduction of new crops for the greenhouse and landscape industries. The garden is open to professionals and the public.
