Founding LETS/OLLI director, Wichian Rojanawon, is back visiting from Thailand! Members and guests are invited to attend an informal reception at the Thayer Public Library in Braintree and say hello to him. Wichian will also do a short program on his various travels since retiring.
In 1998, Wichian set out to establish a planning and working group charged to create a learning in retirement program on the UMass Boston campus. Many working group members and soon to be founding LETS members and leaders were graduates and volunteers with the Gerontology’s Manning Certificate Program. A year later, the Life Enrichment Transition Studies (LETS) began offering courses and other programs. LETS became OLLI at UMass Boston in 2008. Wichian retired in 2017.
