Massacre of My Lai (Hingham Only)

On March 16, 1968, U. S. Army infantry troops from the Americal Division conducted a search-and-destroy mission along the coast of Viet Nam in a village called My Lai. Despite meeting no resistance and finding no enemy troops, the American troops murdered 504 innocent, defenseless Vietnamese women and children in cold blood. A massive cover-up by U.S. Army high brass almost made these events disappear into the dusty pages of history. But, a year after the massacre, the truth was made known to the general public. In 2018, Cunningham attended the 50th commemoration of the My Lai Massacre in Viet Nam. He discusses his visit there with a powerful PowerPoint presentation and discusses the reasons behind the massacre and the consequences paid.
