OLLI at UMass Boston is a financially self-supporting program and does not receive any state funding.
Membership fees and interest from the Osher Foundation endowment finance a large part of the program,
but they do not fully cover our costs. We rely on the generosity of our members to make sure that our
program remains vibrant and affordable to all.
Why Donate? Your support maintains:
- the program’s affordability and allows us to offer members outstanding courses and moderators
- the OLLI Scholar program which brings the enthusiasm of UMass graduate students to our classrooms
- new materials and technologies to reach learners online
- special events and travel
- resources to seed new ideas for OLLI’s growth
Ways to Donate. There are many ways to support OLLI at UMass Boston financially:
- Make a single [one-time] donation of any amount or a multi-year pledge
- Make a monthly pledge to fit easily in your monthly budget
- Give a donation in honor of a friend or loved one
- Make a contribution directly from your IRA to fulfill part of your annual required minimum

- Make a contribution to the Harry Gloss Scholarship Fund. Named in memory of Harry Gloss, an OLLI founding member, course facilitator, and board of directors member, the scholarship allows those who value lifelonglearning to participate in OLLI regardless of their financial situation.
