What the Heck is Hoppin' John? - HB In-Person

This class will offer the history of Hoppin' John, i.e., black-eyed peas, how it is culturally celebrated during the last day of Kwanzaa and how one can enjoy vegetarian soul food. Dr. Semmons will share her recipe and after the presentation participants will partake in eating a prepared meal of Hoppin' John and more. Fee: $10.00

Afternoon Yoga, Term I - HB In-Person

This class will introduce yoga concepts of meditation, breath control and basic asanas (poses or positions). Our goal is to evaluate and improve participant strength, flexibility and balance. The emphasis is on the functional practice of yoga, not the perfect pose. Whether you are new to yoga or experienced, come join us. Fee: $20.00

Chairobics, Term I - Zoom
Chairobics combines fun and fitness while moving to music. This class is designed to increase muscle strength and range of movement as well as improve cardiovascular health. Small hand weights and elastic bands are used for toning and a chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. There are no on-the-floor exercises. (LMT#2957) Fee: $20.00

Tai Chi for Health on Zoom, Term I - Zoom
This class is open to all participants of the 2021-2022 Zoom class or with permission of the instructor. Participants must be familiar with Dr. Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention (40 Sun forms) and Tai Chi for Beginners (first 6 forms of the 24 Yang style Forms).
