Japanese Origami - GP In-Person

In this seminar, open to both beginner and returning students, participants will learn the basic origami (ori-to fold, gami-paper) folds and then construct such classic models as craness, peacocks, tulips, rabbits, sailboats, butterflies, flapping birds, hopping frogs, samurai hats, etc. Origami paper provided.

Marker Art: Rock, Paper, Metallic Object - GP In-Person

Using easy-grip POSCA paint markers and acrylic paint pens, we will learn simple techniques to create bright graphic art on paper, rocks and other surfaces. No drawing experience is needed - just come ready to experiment with color and leave with artwork you will be proud to display or share! Some supplies provided. Supply List: Bring a set of at least eight bright-colored POSCA markers.

Landscape Art for the Intermediate Artist - GP In-Person
REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS CLOSED. This class is already in session.

This class will cover drawing and painting in watercolor. You will learn the technique of perspective with the use of color, shading, shadow, and form. Other landscape paintings, photos, and demonstrations will be used as examples of nature in art. If the weather permits the class will go out on the campus grounds to sketch. Supply List: Sketch pad, drawing pencils, gum eraser, pencil sharpener, small set of watercolor paints, watercolor brushes, a pad of watercolor paper, a covering for the table when painting, a container for water, paper towel and mixing pan if using tube paints.

Let's Play the Ukulele - GP Meet-Up
REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS CLOSED. This class is already in session.

In this class OLLI members will come to understand the ukulele as a musical instrument, learn to read ukulele chords and play while reading the chords. Left-handed members will need left-handed ukuleles. Supply List: Concert, tenor or baritone (with GCEA strings) ukulele, ukulele tuner (used before class begins) and music stand.
