Learn the Ancient Art of Temari: Hand Ball - GP In-Person
In this class we will start with Temari basics, learning how to make a foundation ball, mark and separate the foundation ball and apply thread to make a beautiful and artful design. Temari can be made with many materials, but we will be using beginner friendly materials. Some materials will be provided. Supply List: 3" Styrofoam ball, a skein of knitting/crochet yarn (This does not need to be new and does need to be all one color as it will be covered by other wrappings.), glass head pins (available at Walmart), large spool of COTTON sewing thread (500 yards is the best size and buy a color that you will want as a background color for your design - Coats and Clarke is fine), scissors, sewing needles - at least 3" long, embroidery floss of your choice (any color) or Perle Cotton (any color) - several skeins of each of the colors you choose and embroidery floss is less expensive and works well, but Perle Cotton gives a "richer" look and is a little easier to work with.
