The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED program is an in-person training located at WSCC campuses. A class is approximately 3.5 hours and all materials, including student workbook and certification ecard is included. Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED teaches participants to provide first aid, perform CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively. Based on the latest American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). Who should take this course? Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED trains anyone with little or no medical training to provide first aid, CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Some examples include teachers, parents, family caregivers, childcare workers, and others.
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED teaches the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR and AED including:
First aid basics
Medical emergencies
Injury emergencies
Environmental emergencies
Preventing illness and injury
Adult CPR and AED use
Choking help for an Adult, Child or Infant
Drowning response and prevention
Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
Optional modules in Child CPR AED and Infant CPR
