This 90 hour Phlebotomy Technician Program prepares professionals to collect blood specimens from clients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Students will become familiar with all aspects related to blood collection and develop comprehensive skills to perform venipunctures completely and safely. Classroom and lab work includes terminology, anatomy and physiology; blood collection procedures; specimen hands-on practice; and training in skills and techniques to perform puncture methods.
This program includes a 40 hour clinical externship opportunity. To be eligible for the clinical, students must successfully complete the 90 hour program, submit to a thorough background check, drug screening, and meet other requirements
Note: Students who complete this program will have the opportunity to pursue the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam or National Workforce Career Association (NWCA) Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Exam. Exam fee not included in the course fee.
This class will be conducted in a hybrid format as follows:
Tuesdays: in-person in Wilson 314
Thursdays: live online via Zoom
Saturdays: in-person in Wilson 314
Labs will be conducted 9:00am - 3:00pm on the following Saturdays: 10/25, 11/1, 11/15, 11/22
Cost of books is included in the course fee - books will be distributed in class.
Cost of parking decal for semester is $30. Instructions on how to obtain decal will be provided.
