The Angel: A Political Thriller

The Angel is an Israeli-American spy-thriller film (2018) that takes place in the Middle East, mostly in Egypt and Israel, as well as in England. It is an adaptation of the nonfiction book The Angel: The Egyptian Spy Who Saved Israel, written by Uri Bar-Joseph. It tells the true story of Ashraf Marwan, a high-ranking Egyptian official who became a spy for Israel, and helped achieve peace between the two countries in the early 1970s. Marwan is the only person ever to be recognized as a national hero in both Israel and Egypt.
