Our presenter, Michael Kielb, has photographed over 400 species of moths at his Whitefish Point cabin, near Paradise, Michigan. These moths range in size from North America’s largest, the Cecropia and Luna moths, to moths measuring as little as 5-7mm. Moth caterpillars feed on several trees − pines, spruces, alders, birches – and on grasses and lichens. At least three moth species have aquatic larvae. During this class we will look at about 200 of the most interesting and attractive species, and there will be ample time for questions and answers.
