Text: John Steinbeck, Of Mice and Men
Several paperback editions are available at local libraries, and through bookstores and online book vendors. The Penguin Company edition is 103 pages long.

Mary Engelhardt is working her way through John Steinbeck novels, and this is our third Steinbeck book review. We will spend the first class reviewing each chapter of the book. Mary likes to learn of a passage in the book that you particularly enjoyed – please be ready to read and share that passage with the class. We will then discuss the characters and how this book affected us. During our second class session we will view and discuss the 1939 movie version starring Burgess Meredith and Lon Chaney Jr. At our third class meeting we will view and discuss the 1992 version of the movie directed by and starring Gary Sinise and John Malkovich.

Mary Engelhardt has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University with a major in elementary education and three minors in language and literature, general music and social science group. She holds an M.A. degree in counseling from Oakland University.
