More than a dozen proposals could appear on the November 2022 ballot in Michigan, some amending the state constitution, and others establishing new laws or seeking to repeal a newly-enacted law. The process to put them on the ballot will not be complete until long after this catalog is printed. Proposal topics will include voting rights and election processes, school funding, abortion, the minimum wage, and perhaps more. Promote the Vote 2022 is one of the most important, and supplements Proposal 3 of 2018, which passed by 63%. Margaret Leary will describe each one, discuss who supports or opposes it and why, and whether the League of Women Voters of Michigan supports, opposes, or has no position on it.

Margaret A. Leary received a B.A. from Cornell University, an M.A. from the University of Minnesota, an M.A. from Eastern Michigan University, and a J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law. She taught at the University of Michigan Law School, and was director of the university’s Law Library from 1984 to 2011.
