In this class you will learn about three critical steps to prevent identity theft. Most people never take the time to learn how criminals lure their victims into financial scams, which leads to billions of dollars lost every year. And to make matters worse, most victims never recover their money. Our goal is to help fix this problem and to prepare you to stop scams from robbing you in the first place. After this class, you will find peace in knowing some of the best practices that local residents are already using to prevent crime.
A member of the Ann Arbor Police Department will present this training. The Ann Arbor Police Department has over 100 sworn police officers and detectives who specialize in crime response and prevention. The department serves a diverse and growing population of 121,000 people, which often swells to 200,000 during the workday. Officers are experienced in reporting, investigating, and preventing identity theft crimes and will share this information with you.
