Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club Tour

OFFSITE TOUR: 3487 Broad Street, Dexter, Michigan
Enrollment: This tour is limited to 20 attendees. A waitlist will be available.

All Aboard! Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club member Fabian Beltrand will lead a tour of the club’s scale layout of the Huron Valley Railroad, in the historic Dexter Depot built in 1841. The scale models and trains are loosely based on what in real life is now the Norfolk Southern Railroad, from Detroit to Jackson. In the Club’s version of history, when the New York Central was merging with the Pennsylvania Railroad, it was decided that this track was not needed. A small regional railroad was created to handle the local traffic on the line. You will enjoy accurate and charming scale layouts with operating trains, local history, and photographs, in an authentic historic site which includes the Kinnear Track Pans. Fabian Beltrand has been a member of the Ann Arbor Model Railroad Club for 53 years. He has been a train enthusiast all his life, and even prefers to travel by train. Driving and parking information will be sent to class registrants a few days before the tour.
