Enjoy watching a star-studded revue of milestone Broadway shows and songs from 1973 to 2023 from the PBS Great Performances’golden anniversary show of March 2023. This presentation spotlights songs by legendary composers including Stephen Schwartz, Kander and Ebb, Fats Waller, Stephen Sondheim, Duke Ellington, and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Hosted by Tony winner Sutton Foster, the musical celebration from Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater highlights songs and dances that illustrate the evolution of contemporary Broadway. The show includes performances by many Tony award-winning performers such as Corbin Bleu, Donna McKechnie, Andre De Shields, and the legendary Chita Rivera performing her signature song “All That Jazz” from Chicago. Toby Teorey is the current Vice-Chair of the Elderwise Council. He is retired from the Computer Science Department at the University of Michigan and in retirement pursues his enduring love of world history, music, and culture.
