HYBRID: In the classroom and online. A Zoom link will be sent to all one day before class.

Two Years of the Russia-Ukraine War: Lessons Learned, Changed Paradigms, and A Look Ahead
The war between Russia and Ukraine will enter its third year in February 2024, and there is no end in sight. Join us as presenter Paul Kubicek updates the status of the war and discusses possible scenarios. He will focus extensively on how the war has changed geopolitics, affecting not just Europe but also countries such as China, India, Iran, and states in sub-Saharan Africa. Paul Kubicek is a Professor of Political Science at Oakland University. He wrote his Ph.D. dissertation (University of Michigan, 1995) on post-Soviet Ukraine, and has published extensively on Ukrainian and Russian politics, the European Union, democratization, and Turkey. He has recently updated his book, The History of Ukraine (Bloomsbury/Greenwood).
