Ghosts, Poltergeists, and Other Spirits: Tales of the Paranormal
As a psychic medium and former member of a paranormal investigation team, Beverly Fish has had many encounters with spirit people and haunted locations. During this class she will talk about some of the most interesting cases that she has experienced, and some local haunted sites and spirit people she has met. Beverly does psychic readings and house cleansings for people experiencing negative entities. She also does presentations on how to develop your psychic ability. Join us as we hear about this unusual subject. Beverly Fish is retired from Wayne State University, and the College of Creative Studies in Detroit. She became aware of her psychic medium abilities as a young child when she learned that she could communicate with the spirit person (ghost) that haunted their house.

The laundry line? What's there to talk about? Anne will take you on a nostalgic trip back in time to the days when everyone hung their wash on the line to dry – when they went online without the internet! There will be memories to share, links between the clothesline and social/cultural issues, history, feminism, psychology, sociology, and ecology. You will hear why "solar drying" – that wonderful free sun – is once again the way to go in today's eco-conscious world. There will be personal stories, delightful slides to see, along with a peek at Anne's vast collection of laundry memorabilia. We may end up with a laundry list of things to think about, but she won't leave us hanging while airing her thoughts. She will pin things down for us, and try to remove any hang-ups we may have about using the clothesline. So, come join us and let's hang out together! Clothesline Historian and Hobbyist, Anne Lawrence is an alumna of Tufts University in psychology and education. She enjoyed a 20-year career in university administration at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA. Since retiring and relocating to Ann Arbor 13 years ago, she has been happily sharing her hobby with people all over the area.

In this class we will take time to ponder some questions that might arise as we get ready for the end of our lives. In a compassionate setting, we will be able to share our thoughts and feelings, and listen to others. Some of the questions we will explore include: What are one or two things I would really like to see or do before my life is over? Do I have messages for people in my life I’d really like to convey? Are there documents regarding my death I still need to complete? What is the best way to get them done? Are there practical considerations I’m thinking about – housing, transportation, meals, bills, etc.? Do I have wishes about what happens after I die? Have I shared them with my family or friends? Who is going to help me as I age? What do I think I will need help with? Come join us in exploring these and similar topics in a gentle, caring manner. Please bring your own questions – anything about getting ready for the end of life is welcome. Layla Ananda has an M.A. in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology. She offers consulting and workshops through Deep Peace Consulting.
