Have you always wanted to learn to throw on a pottery wheel? Here is your chance! This introductory class is designed for beginners with little to no experience with clay. The class takes place over 3 consecutive Friday afternoons. The first Friday we will learn the basics of wheel throwing, creating bowls and cylinders. The second Friday we will learn to trim our pieces, create and attach handles to turn our cylinders into mugs, and experiment with different decorative techniques. The third Friday we will glaze our pieces and learn about cone 10 firing in the kiln. All materials and firings are included.

This three-week wheel throwing focused class is designed for beginner to intermediate throwers who want to learn and develop their wheel throwing skills. Instruction will take place over three consecutive Friday evenings and cover wheel throwing basics; cylinders, bowls, more complex forms as well as trimming, handle attachments, decorative finishing techniques, glazing, and cone 10 firing in the kiln. All materials and firings included.

After firing, rain chains will be assembled by the instructor and you will pick up a completed product.

Learn about the native plants you are using or feel free to bring your own plants to press! This course is led by a local plant expert. Each participant can expect to take home up to 6-10 small pieces or 4-8 medium-sized pieces. This is a beginner-friendly course, and no experience is necessary.
