Earning this credential from the Athletics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) verifies that you can safely and effectively teach group fitness classes. This course includes a voucherfor prepaid access to sit for the certifying AFAA GFI Exam upon completion of the course and eligibility.

This course is designed for those who are interested in or just starting to play pickleball. The focus will be on basic skills, but we will transition into strategy used in singles, doubles, and tournament play. There will be drills to improve skills but also plenty of game type activities. The course is perfect for those who want to get their feet wet in pickleball, but may not be ready for high level competition. Class fee includes access to "Pickleball Open Play".

Tai Chi is an internal martial art and health exercise which focuses on breathing, physical movement and relaxation. Posture, flexibility, balance, and mind-body coordination are improved as the student gains confidence in learning to apply Tai Chi concepts through breath work, warm-up exercises, Tai Chi forms, and loosening and cool down exercises. Often called 'poetry in motion', the slow and gentle movements of Tai Chi are excellent for reducing tension and stress and for promoting general health in both body and mind. Tai Chi is non-competitive, self-paced and beginner-friendly. Comfortable clothing and shoes recommended.
Elko In-Person Class. Ages 12 and up.

This is a beginner and all-levels-friendly yoga course. Most classes will include standing poses, core work, floor exercises, and a final relaxation; some classes will be devoted to other yoga styles. Modifications will be given as needed so that all students can be successful. More experienced students will be given options to progress their practice.

Each class begins with a full-body warm-up, followed by a series of strength training exercises executed with dumbbells, kettlebells, and resistance bands. Students will improve muscular strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. The workout can be modified for any fitness level.

In this course students will learn the basic fundamentals of rock climbing. This will include skills such as how to safely attach yourself to the rope, how to properly belay your climbing partner, as well as how to safely bring them back to the earth. Students will also learn basic anchor building fundamentals, movement techniques, and other skills applicable to outdoor climbing.

Elko in-person class for ages 13-17.

Music and movements for toddlers is an interactive class designed to get parents and toddlers moving and singing. We will learn rhythm, new words, and parts of the body through song and simple movements. Children will have the opportunity to play with basic percussion instruments, use their bodies to make sounds (e.g., clapping and tapping), and join other kids in having fun. The class is designed for parents/caregivers and children to interact together, so children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 3 and under.

Elko In Person Class

International Juggling Association gold and silver medalist Josiah Jones (a.k.a. The Jackal of Juggling) will teach a workshop focused on three-ball juggling basics for beginners, with bonus tips for intermediate jugglers who want to level up. Each student gets their own set of three juggling balls to keep, so the fun doesn’t stop when the workshop ends!
