Highline College and Three Trees Yoga Studio have partnered to offer the Registered Yoga Teacher 200-Hour Certification Program.
This program is designed for those seeking to become yoga teachers as well as for those who desire to deepen their own yoga practice.
Participants will learn the fundamentals of teaching a comprehensive Hatha yoga practice including alignment-based asana; pranayama; mindfulness and meditation; anatomy and physiology specific to teaching yoga; a study of the Chakras; Ayurveda (the sister science of yoga); and yogic philosophy as described in the Yoga Sutras of Pantanjali. Additionally, emphasis will be placed on the techniques of teaching and cueing poses; learning to observe bodies, modify poses, and sequence classes with ample time allotted to “practice teaching” throughout the program.
To find out more, attend a free "no-obligation" information session, either in-person or via zoom on Jan 23 and Feb 27, from 12:30-1:30 pm. For more details, click here.
Top Five Reasons You Will Love This Program:
Our Faculty: All five of our instructors are leaders in their field with many years of training and experience. Having five different voices gives you a balanced, informed exposure to yoga. Their depth of knowledge and enthusiasm will inspire you.
Our Curriculum: Our program has been carefully designed to introduce you to the whole of yoga, allowing you to dive deeply into the practice you love. We have woven the weekends in such a way that the various topics support and enrich each other. For example, on the weekend you learn about the core, you’ll also explore mula bandha (root lock) and the root chakra. Although the weekends are very full, we schedule the training days so that there is time for movement and lecture as well as stillness and rest.
Our Schedule: The 9 weekends model rather than a more intense, condensed schedule allows you time to digest and integrate what you’ve learned. Our past participants have found that creating new habits over a 9 month period was transformational.
Our Culture: Three Trees is an inclusive welcoming community for all people. We create a container of safety, acceptance and compassion from the very first hour of training. Ours is a safe place to show up as your authentic self and learn, make mistakes, ask questions and shine. We support each other in our individual life paths that have brought us to the practice of yoga and we help you find your unique voice and expression of yoga.
Your Future: Whether you want to deepen your own practice and understanding of yoga or to actually teach, we will help guide you. Work Well NW is a subsidiary of Three Trees Yoga that is committed to bringing yoga and meditation to the workplace and as an added result may offer teaching opportunities for graduates of Three Trees Yoga Teacher Training Program. Although employment is not guaranteed, a strong effort will be made to help you achieve this goal if desired. Our graduates currently teach in studios, schools, wellness facilities, fire stations, hospitals and corporate environments.
