Summer School for Teachers: STEM
The MaST Center Aquarium is hosting Summer School for Teachers! This 4-day training will introduce 6th-12th grade teachers to marine-themed STEM curriculum kits with hands-on classroom investigations. These curriculum kits will be available for teachers to check out during the school year. The curriculum aligns with Next Generation Science Standards and NOAA’s Ocean Literacy Principles.
The 4-day training is August 21st-24th from 9am-12pm. During the training, teachers will participate in the kit lessons and hands-on activities such as plankton tows, building marine skeletons, and constructing remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Plus, get the chance to interact with Puget Sound marine life in the MaST Center’s aquarium.
Training will be held at the MaST Center Aquarium. Clock hours are available. Space is limited to 16 participants! Registration is required.
