Have you wanted to hike in the outdoors but don’t know where to start? Or are you looking to hike with like-minded folks with a qualified guide? Welcome to Adventure Hikes on the Olympic Peninsula! In this class, you will have the opportunity to learn a multitude of outdoors skills for either day hiking or backpacking overnight in a 1-day weekend day hiking session. Learn about carrying the 10 Essentials, making a first aid kit, wilderness safety, setting up your camp, navigation options, trip planning, food prep, gear usage and field maintenance, wild animal encounters, and more! In this group setting, students are welcome to bring their collection of hiking and backpacking gear so that we can stage campsite setups, emergency scenarios, and enjoy a lovely day hike on the Olympic Peninsula! An online classroom will provide resources for students who want to self-study before the hands-on practicum exercises.
Students must be 18 years of age. See more information about class here: Adventure Hikes on the Olympic Peninsula (campusce.net)
