Student Learning Outcomes
Students will gain familiarity with:
- Analyzing power dynamics in an organization, whether for-profit or non-profit.
- The “Office Bully Spectrum”.
- How dynamics of the toxic workplace overlap with the dynamics of family abuse.
- Levers to rebalance power: the law and its limitations.
- Levers to rebalance power: industry standards and corporate policies on conduct and ethics.
- How to engage organizational levers of power, including alternative dispute resolution methods.
- How to have difficult and empowering conversations, using advanced mediation skills.
Students taking this class for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) must attend 80% of classes. Email communityed@pencol.edu for your CEU Verification Letter at the completion of class.
