Many eras comprise the millennia labeled "Ancient Greece" and each has its own unique characteristics. In this class, we will look at two of the most important ages prior to Classical Greece, the Minoans (who lived on Crete and Santorini) and the Mycenaeans (who lived on the Peloponnese or southern mainland of Greece). These people made major contributions to the areas of art and engineering and yet few know of their accomplishments. We'll explore how their cultures influenced later Greek culture and even our own.
