Tuition-free OLLI   

Tuition-free OLLIOLLI at Sierra College has two types of courses: Club OLLI and Tuition-free OLLI. Each requires a different registration process. The OLLI Tuition-free courses are part of the Sierra College curriculum, but are still noncredit with no test or grades. You must be a Sierra College student to take these classes hence this separate registration process. Below is the information on how to register for these courses. It’s a bit more cumbersome but they are free!

  • If you are a new student or did not take a tuition-free course in Fall 2024, you will need to complete an application along with your course registration form. Complete the application/registration form
  • If you did take a tuition-free course in the Fall 2024 semester, you are a current student and only need to complete the course registration form.

Please return your form(s)in one of the following ways listed below. Once we receive the forms, we will process your registration and send you an email confirmation separate from your Club OLLI confirmation.

    Set in a boarding school in early 1920s Seville, Spain, the traditional education of girls is challenged by the arrival of a new professor who embraces global points of view that include the modernist perspective. Education reflects the steeped traditions of the city and the time, challenged by the arrival of European Modernism influencing literature, politics, and gender roles. This series examines intergenerational perspectives and challenges women faced from the female point of view. In Spanish with English subtitles. Historical material will accompany each episode.

    Were you in Band in High School? Middle School? Do you wish you still played? Do you consider yourself a music loving amateur performer? If so, this class is for you! Welcome to the Truckee-Tahoe Community Band. If you have the desire to play with others in an ensemble setting, and prior but not necessarily current experience, then join us on Wednesday nights for a musical adventure. We will work together to interpret and perform fun band literature. The class will culminate in a performance. Music builds community – come join us!

    The desires and whims of the 1960s to early 21st century modern citizens were governed (conditioned) by consumerism. We will read and study the short stories and novels of global authors Georges Perec, Haruk Murakami, Michel Tremblay, and Annie Ernaux.
