  • Learn about Athens-Oconee CASA and the work the organization does to provide advocacy for children experiencing foster care. Athens-Oconee CASA has over 80 specially trained volunteers appointed by the Western Judicial Circuit juvenile court, and these volunteers have served over 170 children in the community's foster care system in 2025. CASA's work promotes safe and stable homes for children in times of family crisis. By advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect, their volunteers amplify each child's voice and help change a child's story. Topics covered will inlcude: Session 1: Why do we elect a President the way we do, and what IS this Electoral College? Session 2: Why isn't Senate representation based on population? Session 3: How does the 25th Amendment change the rules for Presidents and Vice-Presidents?". The instructor will also ask attendees for related topics of interest to potentially explore in sessions 2 and 3.
