In this session, we will examine the five non-financial pillars that decide whether your encore years feel rich or hollow: spirituality, hobbies, intellectual engagement, emotional health, and physical fitness. We will map the Goldilocks Zone of retirement, where financial preparation and human preparation hold each other up, and we will name the two quadrants where most retirees get stuck: rich but impoverished, or loved but unprepared.
You measured your retirement in dollars. What if dollars were never the point? For decades, the financial industry has trained us to measure readiness in a single currency—money. The implicit promise is: if you reach the number, the life you want will follow. For most retirees, it does not. Money is quantitative; wealth is qualitative. One is a means, the other is the end. We use the two terms interchangeably, yet they describe very different things. Money can be lost in a market correction. Wealth is built across a lifetime, and once built, no market can touch it.
You will leave this session with a clearer distinction and a sharper question: Not “Am I rich enough?” but “Am I wealthy enough?”
