Native American Beadwork   

Discover the art and tradition of Native American beadwork in this hands-on workshop designed for beginners. Guided by enrolled Chinook tribal member and experienced beadwork artist Mira Arquette, students will learn foundational beadwork techniques while exploring the history, cultural significance, and intentionality behind this enduring art form. Participants will create a pair of beaded earrings and gain the skills needed to continue beadwork projects independently. Drawing on traditions shared with the instructor by her elders, students will create their first beadwork project as a gift for someone special, honoring the values of humility, community, and gratitude. No prior experience is required, and all materials are provided.

Build on your beadwork skills in this hands-on workshop designed for students who have completed a beginner beadwork class or have some prior experience. Participants will practice new techniques while creating a more detailed beadwork project and further exploring the history, cultural teachings, and artistic traditions that inform Native American beadwork. Through demonstration and guided practice, students will strengthen their skills, improve precision and design techniques, and leave with a completed project and greater confidence in their beadwork abilities. All materials are provided.
