Woman holding her pregnant belly with her hands in the shape of a heartPrepare for childbirth with confidence in this one-day class designed to equip expectant parents with practical knowledge and skills for pregnancy, labor, and early parenting. Topics include the stages of labor, pain management options such as breathing techniques, relaxation methods, and medical interventions, the birthing process, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding basics, and newborn care. The class also explores the emotional and physical changes of pregnancy and postpartum while encouraging informed decision-making and effective communication with healthcare providers. Led by certified childbirth educator and trauma-informed doula Mandy Webb Hancock, this supportive class helps reduce anxiety and promotes a positive birth experience.

APPLE HEALTH CAN PAY FOR THIS CLASS

This course is eligible to be paid for by Washington Apple Health through the First Steps program. You must be pregnant and enrolled in WA Apple Health when you register, and when you take the class. Choose a class session below and follow the directions to register with Apple Health. Includes book and admission for you and a partner thanks to the Grays Harbor Family Support Program.

HOW TO REGISTER WITH APPLE HEALTH

  1. Complete the Apple Health Billing Request and Consent for Services form online. You will need your ProviderOne ID number or your Social Security number. The form takes a few seconds to load. You do not need to download an app. If you are on your phone, when you click the link above, a SignNow page will open. On that page, find the link that says "Sign With Mobile Browser" near the bottom of the page to complete the form without downloading an app. When you're done, please be sure to click the button to Finalize and submit the form.
  2. Return to this page and add the course to your cart.
  3. Create an account and checkout. Make sure your email address and phone number are accurate so that we can contact you to complete your registration.
  4. When you check out, select "Please bill WA Apple Health" from the payment option dropdown.
  5. Complete the registration process. Your registration status will be "Registered, not paid."

After we receive your completed form and registration, we will verify your enrollment in Apple Health and finalize your registration in the class. Your registration status will be changed to "Registered" and we will let you know by email and phone. If we have any questions or problems, we'll reach out to you. You will receive registration information by email, and you can check your course registration status in your Account at any time.

GRAYS HARBOR FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAM

Childbirth Education is offered in partnership with the Grays Harbor Family Support Program, which provides course materials and a Welcome Baby kit for each participant. After the class, continue your parenting journey with a one-on-one meeting with a Family Support Program specialist, or attend the next Connect, Play, Learn play group.
