Students will receive a certificate after completing the class; this certificate is valid for one calendar year from the date of attendance.

This class is completely online. Students must complete a 2-hour self-paced course prior to attending this training. Students who do not complete the pre-work course, cannot attend the second part of the training.

Course Description
You are more likely to encounter someone in an emotional or mental crisis than someone having a heart attack. Learn how to help a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor in need. The National Council for Behavioral Health certifies individuals throughout the nation to provide Mental Health First Aid courses to prepare their communities with the knowledge and skills to help individuals who are developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Identified on SAMHSA’s National Registry of Evidence-Based Programs and Practices, the training helps the public better identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses.
