Fundamental Techniques of Crash Investigation (VoD)

We've bundled our five most popular Videos on Demand (VoDs) into one, informative series to address different aspects of a traffic crash investigation. While these areas are crucial to a comprehensive investigation, their significance may not be recognized during the initial response. These courses will allow you to more thoroughly investigate and testify regarding traffic crash investigations.

This course bundle includes the following five VoDs:

Case Preparation and Courtroom Presentation (VoD) – This webinar will help you prepare to face the rigors of both direct and cross examinations, with particular attention to challenges to your expertise and attempts to block or preclude your testimony.
Roadway Evidence (VoD) – You will learn which evidence should be captured and preserved for future analysis and reconstruction.
Safety Belt Examinations (VoD) – You will learn how to collect the forensic evidence from the safety belt hardware which may confirm either use or non-use during a crash.
Tire Examinations – Tire and Wheel Forensics (VoD) – You will learn to recognize wheel and tire anomalies and how to properly document the evidence for future industry, insurance or judicial processes.
Vehicle Lamp Examinations in Traffic Collisions (VoD) – You will become familiar with basics on lamp examinations in order to determine whether or not a vehicle lamp was lit at the moment of impact.

Online Details

Online environment: Videos on Demand (VoDs) provide comprehensive, subject-specific information and must be viewed within 30 days upon registration. Once the 30-day period has ended, you may have limited access and be required to re-enroll. Additional fees may apply.

Computer requirements: You will complete the course entirely online. A dependable broadband internet connection with a Windows or Mac computer and Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download) are required.

Registration and Fees

Full payment must accompany all registrations. You may register online and pay with your Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express credit card, or you may download a Registration Form and mail it to IPTM with a check.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

Complete the Cancellation Request Form and return it to IPTM. No telephone cancellations will be accepted. A 20% administrative fee will be assessed to all refunds if the cancellation request is received within 14 days of the course start date. In lieu of a refund, student substitutions can be made or a credit can be issued for a future course. No refunds will be given for no-shows. If materials for an online course were sent to the student, the appropriate materials and shipping costs will be deducted from the refund amount. Materials may be returned to IPTM in their original condition at the student's expense. Once IPTM has received and inspected them, the refund will be processed.

Due to the automated format of online independent study courses and Videos on Demand (VoDs), no refunds or substitutions can be made after registration.

Course Confirmations

A minimum number of registrations must be received for an in-person class to run as scheduled. When the minimum criterion has been met, written confirmation will be emailed to you. Please do not travel or make airline reservations until you receive written notification confirming that the course will run as scheduled.

Transportation and Lodging

Most locations are served by several major airlines. Transportation, food and lodging are the responsibility of the student.
