Students enrolled in our one-week Filmmaking Boot Camp will receive an exciting introduction to the craft of storytelling through film. The pace is feverish -- and fun. Each student will have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit their own short project to be screened at the conclusion of the camp. Through hands-on filmmaking, students explore how to express their ideas, something important to themselves, be it personal or universal. Students will leave the program with a 2-3 minute finished film. Open to students 16 years of age and older or by permission of instructor.

This class prepares students to receive a Flagger Certification card, which is valid for 3 years in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. Students must be at least 18 years old and must bring a valid State I.D. Card or Drivers License to the class. There is an open book test at the end of class in which you must have a passing score of 80% in order to receive your certification.

- Class is full-day for full certification and partial-day for recertification.
- Students receive Traffic Control Flagger Certification Handbook (yours to keep and reference on the job).

Students will examine the intersection of Greek mythology and cult rituals which defined religious worship in ancient Greece. Several key themes/questions will be explored. Such as, how did the majority of ancient Greeks understand and culturally interpret a variety of natural phenomena? How did polis ritual activities differ from domestic ones? What was the purpose of personal prayer and animal sacrifice? By examining the complex interactions of a variety of sacred spaces; shrines, temples, and oracular sites, students will examine the phenomenological nature of ancient religious practices. Through class lectures supported group discussions, students will evaluate current anthropological theories of why people devised, supported and promoted religious worship in ancient Greece.

Mary Beth shows every shade, shape and oddity and describes pieces from 42 different countries around the world. Hear about Mermaid Tears, UV Glowers, "Pirate Glass" and more. The second lecture will end with a question-and-answer session, time allowing.
