In the 1980s and 1990s, demographic dynamics became considerably different from what American adults had experienced when they were growing up - things like Baby Busts replacing baby booms, new life stages after age 65, and increased racial diversity. By 2000, Americans had settled into the new perspective, but now we are undergoing another demographic transformation. One aspect, below-replacement fertility in many countries as well as here, goes against demographers' expectations as well as the public's. And population decline has entered the picture, even in the U.S. What might today's young generations confront as they mature?

When you think of Mexican cocktails, what most likely comes to mind is a Margarita or well-chilled Corona. But from the pineapple-based "Matador" to the grapefruit derived "Chihuahua", there are SO many other ways to enjoy the combination of tropical fruit, tequila, and ice. Join us on the home patio of OLLI member Susan Carley as spirit master Charles Smith demonstrates how to make a variety of Mexican cocktails. Tastings of these beverages and samplings of Mexican appetizers will make this a fun evening. What better way to prepare for OLLI's March '25 excursion to Mexico!
