Introduction to Aikido—The Way of Harmony

Aikido emphasizes natural movements that improve health and well-being. Learn non-violent self-defense techniques designed for individuals over 50 years of age. Enjoy greater vitality, flexibility, balance, and comfort while learning how you can protect yourself easily. A few moments will be spent in each class to examine the parallels between the resolution of physical conflicts as shown in aikido and psychological conflict.

Breaking the Barrier: The Desegregation of UGA Athletics

This class will explore the desegregation of UGA's athletics programs. It attempts to provide context to the environment surrounding athletics at the university prior to the integration of its sports teams, as well as following the narrative of integration up to the present time.
